Breath for Energy

This pranayama is a great way to access energy reserves. Do it when you need them most, before a meeting or an important event. It will lift your energy and mood up and you will feel strong and ready to face any challenge that the day may present to you.

Sit in easy pose, place hands in prayer position, close the eyes and take your inner gaze up towards the brow point. Inhale in four equal strokes or segments, and exhale segment the breath in four equal strokes, pulling the navel in on each stroke and mentally chant Sa Ta Na Ma on the inhale and exhale to maintain the rhythm and focus the mind. To finish, inhale deeply and hold the breath for a few moments, then exhale and relax.
